新潟市の東にある新発田市。新発田城を中心とした城下町の雰囲気を残します。
見どころとしては、新発田城址のほか、日本庭園のある清水園、街の総鎮守である諏訪神社等でしょうか。新潟市から近いようで、カルチャーは新潟市とは違う、そんな感じがする街でした。
Shibata City is located to the east of Niigata City. It retains the atmosphere of a castle town centered around Shibata Castle.
Sights to see include the ruins of Shibata Castle, the Japanese garden of Shimizu-en, and Suwa Shrine, the town's guardian deity. It seems close to Niigata City, but the culture here is different from that of Niigata City.
