新潟県長岡市。交通の要衝で、このブログでも何回か紹介をしている町です。
山古志地区、寺泊地区など特色のある町が合併してつくられているので、一つの長岡市ではありますが、さまざまな顔を持つ町です。
今回は、中心駅である長岡駅をスタートし、桜の名所である悠久山公園、道の駅を併設した長岡花火ミュージアム、全国にある17の国営公園の一つである、国営越後丘陵公園、大規模な稲荷神社の一つである寶徳山稲荷神社を回り、来迎寺駅からの戻りです。全体で45㎞くらいですが、見所が多く1日かかります。
Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture. It is a key transportation hub and has been introduced on this blog several times.
It was formed by the merger of distinctive towns such as Yamakoshi and Teradomari, so although it is one city, Nagaoka City has many different faces.
This time, we started from Nagaoka Station, the central station, and visited Yukyuzan Park, a famous cherry blossom spot, the Nagaoka Fireworks Museum with its roadside station, Echigo Hillside Park, one of the 17 national parks in Japan, and Houdokuyama Inari Shrine, one of the large Inari shrines, before returning from Raigoji Station. The whole trip is about 45km, but there are many things to see so it will take a whole day.

まずは長岡駅周辺をポタリング。桜の名所で知られる悠久山公園と、有名な神社である金峯神社に寄りました。
First, we went for a bike ride around Nagaoka Station, stopping off at Yukyuzan Park, known for its cherry blossoms, and Kinpu Shrine, a famous shrine.
進路を西に撮り、道の駅ながおか花火館を経由して、国営越後丘陵公園へ。越後丘陵公園はかなり広いので、1日遊べる場所です。
Head west, pass through the roadside station Nagaoka Fireworks Museum, and head to Echigo Hillside Park. Echigo Hillside Park is quite large, so you can spend the whole day there.
越後丘陵公園から南下して、寶徳山稲荷神社へ。宝徳山稲荷神社はかなりの規模で、ちょっと驚きました。長岡市は、特色のある神社の宝庫ですね。
We headed south from Echigo Hillside Park to Hotokuyama Inari Shrine. I was surprised at how large Hotokuyama Inari Shrine was. Nagaoka City is a treasure trove of unique shrines.
