群馬県館林市、太田市、小泉町などはどちらかというと、高崎線沿いからの方が宇都宮線沿いよりも近い感じがします。ただ、鉄道は東武伊勢崎線になるので、宇都宮線の久喜駅が起点となります。歴史的には、熊谷駅から妻沼地区まで鉄道があり、現在の小泉線の終点である西小泉駅につながる予定だったのが、利根川を越えられずとん挫したとか。とはいえ、
さて、今回は館林駅から東武伊勢崎線沿いに進み、足利市を目指します。途中の多々良沼公園に寄ります。足利市は観光資源は豊富ですが、行ったことがあるので今回は足利テラス（大岩山天空西公園）を目指します。標高は300mほどですので、ちょっとしたヒルクライムです。足利テラスからはひたすら熊谷駅を目指します。途中、国宝の聖天山 歓喜院（妻沼聖天山）があるので立ち寄りました。距離としては55㎞と意外と走らず、半日でやれる感じでした。

Now, this time, we will proceed from Tatebayashi Station along the Tobu Isesaki Line and head for Ashikaga City. We will stop at Tatara Numa Park on the way. Ashikaga City is rich in tourist resources, but since I have been there before, this time we will head for Ashikaga Terrace (Oiwayama Tenku Nishi Park). The altitude is about 300m, so it is a bit of a hill climb. From Ashikaga Terrace, we will head straight for Kumagaya Station. On the way, we stopped at the national treasure, Shodenzan Kankiin (Menuma Shodenzan). The distance was surprisingly short at 55km, and I felt I could complete it in half a day.
館林駅を出て多々良沼公園へ。館林駅は、東武線の重要な駅で、久喜駅からの各駅停車の電車はほとんどが館林駅終点になります。館林駅からは佐野方面、足利方面、小泉方面へ線路が伸びております。さて、多々良沼公園ですが、1周5.6㎞くらいの多々良沼のほとりの公園で、弁財天などが祀られております。時間が少なかったので、東岸で写真を撮り、足利方面に向かいました。
Leaving Tatebayashi Station, I headed for Tatara Numa Park. Tatebayashi Station is an important station on the Tobu Line, and most local trains from Kuki Station terminate at Tatebayashi Station. The tracks extend from Tatebayashi Station to Sano, Ashikaga, and Koizumi. Tatara Numa Park is a park on the banks of Tatara Lake, which is about 5.6 km in circumference, and is home to Benzaiten and other deities. I didn't have much time, so I took some photos on the east bank and headed towards Ashikaga.
多々良沼江公園を過ぎ、足利市に入ります。町の中心を過ぎ大岩山毘沙門天を目指します。本格的な山道は2㎞ほど。それほど長く厳しい道ではありません。大岩山毘沙門天を少し過ぎたところに大岩山天空西公園があります。特に、何かあるわけではありませんが、足利市の絶景スポット「天空テラス」として、最近は有名です。自転車乗りも結構訪れるスポットです。関東平野が一望できます。
After passing Tatara Numae Park, you will enter Ashikaga City. After passing the center of town, you will head towards Oiwayama Bishamonten. The full-scale mountain path is about 2km long. It is not a very long or difficult path. Just past Oiwayama Bishamonten you will come to Oiwayama Tenku Nishi Park. There is nothing special there, but it has recently become famous as a scenic spot in Ashikaga City called the "Sky Terrace." It is a spot that is often visited by cyclists. You can get a panoramic view of the Kanto Plain.
大岩山天空西公園からはほぼ南進します。熊谷駅まで30㎞で、北風に乗れれば小一時間の距離ですが、南風ですと結構地獄です。途中、妻沼聖天山があるので休憩がてらお参りをし、熊谷駅に着きました。
From Oiwayama Tenku Nishi Park, we headed almost south. It was 30km to Kumagaya Station, and if we could catch the north wind, it would be a short one-hour drive, but if we caught the south wind, it would be hellish. On the way, we stopped at Menuma Shodenzan, where we took a break and prayed, before arriving at Kumagaya Station.
