DAHON ViscEvo 【サイクリング】気仙沼から大船渡 DAHON ViscEvo [Cycling] From Kesennuma to Ofunato

気仙沼市内の大島に渡ります。島といっても、橋で本土とつながっているため離島感はありませんが、三陸特有のリアス式海岸を見れる場所でもあります。再度本土に戻り、今度は唐桑半島に向かいます。先端にある御崎神社、半蔵・巨釜などの有名な観光地があります。再度、国道45号線に戻り、陸前高田へ。奇跡の一本松は枯れてしまったようですが、保存されその雄姿を見ることができます。この辺りは、津波被害の大きなところで、いたるところで震災の跡を見ることができます。

大船渡市に入り、碁石浜を経て市内に向かいます。時間があれば広田崎も寄りたかったのですが、それでも100㎞近く走るので、ちょっと厳しくパスしました。震災の影響や、地方の情勢から大船渡市もだいぶ人口は減りましたが、新しい建物も多く、大船渡中心部は結構にぎわっておりました。

We crossed over to Oshima in Kesennuma City. Although it is an island, it doesn't feel like an isolated island because it is connected to the mainland by a bridge, but it is also a place where you can see the ria coast unique to Sanriku. We returned to the mainland again and headed towards the Karakuwa Peninsula. There are famous tourist spots such as Misaki Shrine at the tip, Hanzo and Ogama. We returned to Route 45 again and headed to Rikuzentakata. The miracle pine tree seems to have withered, but it has been preserved and you can see its majestic appearance. This area was hit hard by the tsunami, and you can see traces of the earthquake everywhere.

We entered Ofunato City and headed towards the city via Goishihama. If we had time, we would have liked to stop at Hirotazaki, but it would still be nearly 100 km, so we decided to pass it up. The population of Ofunato City has decreased significantly due to the effects of the earthquake and the situation in the region, but there are many new buildings and the center of Ofunato is quite lively.

気仙沼駅から、気仙沼大橋を経由して大島に渡ります。2019年に橋が完成するまでは気仙沼港から船でしたので、この橋に寄って劇的に島の生活が変わったと思います。島を周するような感じで大島の先端の龍舞崎により、帰りに亀山展望台に寄ろうと思いましたが、亀山展望台は工事中で入れず。それでも、大島神社からは素晴らしい景色が見れました。

From Kesennuma Station, we crossed over to Oshima via Kesennuma Ohashi Bridge. Until the bridge was completed in 2019, we had to travel by boat from Kesennuma Port, so I think stopping by this bridge has dramatically changed life on the island. We went around the island, stopping at Tatsumaizaki at the tip of Oshima, and thought we would stop by Kameyama Observatory on the way back, but it was under construction and we couldn't get in. Still, we could see a wonderful view from Oshima Shrine.

国道45号線に戻ると距離をロスするので、沿岸に近い山道を伝い早馬神社へ。早馬神社は立派な神社ですが、津波の影響を受けた神社であり、高台にある本殿まで津波が来ていたことに驚きます。唐桑半島に入り、県道26号線を走り、先端に御崎神社へ。帰りに、有名な半造・巨釜の景勝地に寄りました。

Returning to National Route 45 would mean losing distance, so we took the mountain path close to the coast to Hayama Shrine. Hayama Shrine is a magnificent shrine, but it was also affected by the tsunami, and we were surprised that the tsunami reached the main hall on high ground. We entered the Karakuwa Peninsula, drove along Prefectural Route 26, and reached Misaki Shrine at the tip. On the way back, we stopped at the famous Hanzo-Ogama scenic spot.

唐桑半島エリアを出て、陸前高田方面に向かいます。途中大理石海岸というちょっと引かれる地名があったので立ち寄りました。奇跡の一本松は現在でこそ観光地ではありますが、津波の威力を知ることができる震災遺構の一つです。付近には、気仙中学校、タッピック45(旧道の駅)などの震災遺構もああります。また、新しくできた道の駅には東日本大震災いわて伝承館が併設されております。この付近は、津波で根こそぎ亡くなった感がありました

Leaving the Karakuwa Peninsula area, we headed towards Rikuzentakata. On the way, we stopped at a place called Marble Coast, which is a little intriguing. The Miracle Pine Tree is now a tourist attraction, but it is one of the remains of the disaster that shows the power of the tsunami. Nearby, there are other remains of the disaster, such as Kesen Junior High School and Tappic 45 (old roadside station). The newly built roadside station also houses the Iwate Great East Japan Earthquake Memorial Museum. It felt like everyone in this area had been wiped out by the tsunami.

陸前高田市を後にして大船渡市へ。有名な碁石海岸と、穴通磯に寄り、大船渡駅付近で1泊しました。

Leaving Rikuzentakata City behind, we headed to Ofunato City, stopping off at the famous Goishi Coast and Anatoiso Beach, and spending the night near Ofunato Station.
