米沢市をスタートし、南陽市の熊野神社に向かいます。山形の熊野詣で有名な神社で、参拝客もかなりいます。立派な境内の立派な神社です。近くに、双松公園があり、バラ祭りをやっていたので立ち寄ってみました。東京より1か月程度遅いようですね。
再度、米沢方面に戻り、高畠の亀岡文珠、猫の宮・犬野宮、旧高畠駅など高畠町の観光地を巡りました。
東北本線方面へ向かうのに、国道113号線の二井宿峠を越えて七ヶ宿方面へ向かうか、国道399号線の鳩峰峠を越えるのかで悩みましたが、国道399号線は道路が悪いようなので、国道113号線をチョイスをしました。七ヶ宿の名の通り、集落が点在する美しい村です。宮城の水がめである七ヶ宿湖を越え、白石市へ。材木岩公園で、材木岩を見て、白石城を回り、白石蔵王駅からの戻りです。100㎞近いライドになりましたが、下り基調なので意外と楽でした。
Starting in Yonezawa City, we headed to Kumano Shrine in Nanyo City. This shrine is famous for its Kumano pilgrimage in Yamagata, and attracts a considerable number of worshippers. It's a magnificent shrine with beautiful grounds. Nearby, Somatsu Park was holding a Rose Festival, so we stopped by. It seems to be about a month later than in Tokyo.
We returned to Yonezawa and toured Takahata Town's tourist spots, including Kameoka Monju, Nekonomiya and Inunomiya Shrines, and the former Takahata Station.
Toward the Tohoku Main Line, we debated whether to cross Niijuku Pass on National Route 113 toward Shichikashuku, or cross Hatonomine Pass on National Route 399. Route 399 seemed to be in poor condition, so we opted for Route 113. As its name suggests, Shichikashuku is a beautiful village dotted with settlements. We crossed Lake Shichikashuku, Miyagi's water source, and headed to Shiroishi City. We went to Zaimokuiwa Park, saw Zaimokuiwa Rock, went around Shiroishi Castle, and returned from Shiroishi-Zao Station. It was a nearly 100km ride, but it was surprisingly easy as it was mostly downhill.
米沢市から南陽市まで、国道13号線をひたすら北上します。南陽駅を越え、宮内方面に向かえば、熊野神社にたどり着きます。大きな、神社で東北熊野信仰の中心地であることも納得できます。近くの、双松公園の大きくきれいな公園です。
From Yonezawa City to Nanyo City, head north on National Route 13. After passing Nanyo Station and heading towards Miyauchi, you'll arrive at Kumano Shrine. It's a large shrine, and it's easy to see why it's the center of Kumano faith in the Tohoku region. Nearby is Somatsu Park, a large, beautiful park.
高畠町に戻り、観光地巡りをします。亀岡文珠、猫の宮・犬の宮、旧高畠駅、まほろばの里歴史公園、瓜割石庭公園など見所が多い町で、ポタリングにはちょうど良い感じです。
Return to Takahata town and take a tour of the tourist spots. There are many places of interest in the town, such as Kameoka Monju, Nekonomiya and Inunomiya, the former Takahata Station, Mahoroba no Sato Historical Park, and Uriwari Rock Garden Park, making it a perfect place for pottering.
高畠町の二井宿の集落から、二井宿峠までは近く山登りの雰囲気はあまりない感じです。トンネルを抜けると、宮城県に入ります。七ヶ宿町は小さな集落がいくつか点在する感じです。
From the village of Futajuku in Takahata Town to Futajuku Pass, it's a short journey and doesn't really feel like a mountain climb. Once you pass through the tunnel, you'll enter Miyagi Prefecture. Shichikashuku Town is dotted with several small settlements.
白石市に入り、材木岩公園の口コミがよかったので寄ってみました。七ヶ宿湖の直下にある大きな岩でした。整備もされており、立派な観光地でした。その後、白石市のシンボルである白石城と武家屋敷により、白石蔵王駅から新幹線輪行で戻りました。
Entering Shiroishi City, I decided to stop by Zaimokuiwa Park, which had received good reviews. It's a large rock formation directly below Lake Shichikashuku. It's well maintained and a great tourist spot. Afterwards, I visited Shiroishi Castle and the samurai residences, symbols of Shiroishi City, before returning to Shiroishi-Zao Station on the Shinkansen with my bicycle.
