昨年、碓氷峠をチャレンジ時しましたが、直前の大雨で旧道は通行止め。やむなく、碓井バイパスを登りました。そんなわけで、今年再チャレンジ。
横川の駅を出て、国道を走り、めがね橋方面に向かえばあとは一本道。高低差は600mちょっとで、斜度も厳しくないので初心者でも登れると思います。
旧軽井沢を軽くポタリングをして、帰りは南軽井沢塩沢湖により、高速道路の碓井軽井沢インターチェンジを経由して、県道92号線を下りました。若干クマが出ないか心配でしたが、無事下ることができました。
After a light pottering trip around Kyu-Karuizawa, on the way back I stopped at Minami-Karuizawa Lake Shiozawa, took the Usui-Karuizawa Interchange on the expressway, and headed down Prefectural Route 92. I was a little worried about encountering a bear, but I made it down safely.
As it was the time of year when train fares change, I started from Nishimatsuida Station.
電車代の変わり目だったので、スタートは西松井田駅。
鉄道文化むら、坂本宿、信越本線の遺産である、めがね橋などがあります。
There are attractions such as the Railway Culture Village, Sakamoto-juku, and Megane Bridge, a heritage site of the Shinetsu Main Line.
碓氷峠を登ってしまえば、ほぼ平坦な街をポタリング。レンタルサイクルも豊富で、サイクリングのメッカといえる軽井沢ですが、自分の自転車で走れる楽しみを感じます。
Once you reach the top of Usui Pass, you can enjoy pottering around the mostly flat town. Karuizawa is a cycling mecca with plenty of rental bicycles, but you can also enjoy the pleasure of riding your own bike.
南軽井沢エリアに向かいました。博物館の多いエリアで、文化的な香りがします。また、旧軽井沢や、中軽井沢エリアほど人が多くなくゆったりと過ごすことができます。
We headed to the Minami Karuizawa area. It's an area with many museums and a cultural atmosphere. It's also less crowded than the Kyu-Karuizawa and Naka-Karuizawa areas, so you can relax and enjoy your time there.
帰りは、時間の都合上横川駅から輪行で戻りです。途中、藻岩山がよく見えました。
On the way back, due to time constraints, I decided to take my bike from Yokokawa Station. On the way back, I got a good view of Mt. Moiwa.
