夏の暑い時期、自転車で走れる場所は限られます。海沿いはやや涼しいので、九十九里へ。そこで、謎の店を二つ発見。ひとつは、「あられちゃん家」もう一つは「たぶん…世界一小さいチョコレート工場」。どうも、同じ系列の会社が運営しているようですが、口コミも多く気になりました。ついでに、九十九里浜と、白子神社とは八街神社により、サイクリング。
During the hot summer months, there are only a limited number of places where you can cycle. The coast is a little cooler, so I headed to Kujukuri. There, I discovered two mysterious shops. One is "Arare-chan House" and the other is "Probably... the world's smallest chocolate factory." It seems they are run by the same company, but I was intrigued by the many reviews. I also cycled to Kujukuri Beach, Shirako Shrine, and Yachimata Shrine.
スタートは長生村の外房線八積駅。海に出て、白子に向かうには一番近いというのが理由です。
九十九里の海岸はとても広く雄大です。自転車としては、砂が多くて、塩でさびるのが怖いですが。ちょっとだけ沿岸を走って白子神社に寄りました。
We started at Yazumi Station on the Sotobo Line in Chosei Village. This is the closest station to get to the sea and head towards Shirako.
The Kujukuri coast is very wide and majestic. For cycling, though, there's a lot of sand, and I was worried about the salt rusting my body. I rode a bit along the coast, stopping off at Shirako Shrine.
何の変哲のない、田舎を走っていると急に現れる電車。そして激込みのお菓子直売所。ここが、あられちゃん家でした。激安食堂も併設で、昭和レトロを感じる場所でした。
A train suddenly appears as you travel through an ordinary rural area. And then there's a crowded sweets shop. This is Arare-chan's house. It also has a super cheap restaurant, and it's a place that gives off a Showa-era retro vibe.
交通量の多い、国道を走り次についたのが「たぶん…世界一小さいチョコレート工場」です。小さいかどうかはわかりませんが盛況のようです。
We drove along a busy national highway and arrived at "Probably... the world's smallest chocolate factory." I'm not sure if it's small or not, but it seems to be doing a great job.
ちょっと北上して、八街市に入り八街神社にお参りをして、八街駅から戻りました。
八街神社はライダーズ神社のようです。バイク神社というのもあってややこしいですが、別物です。八街駅前には、ピーナツ色のポストがあり、落花生の町・ピーナッツの町という感じがしました。
I headed a little north into Yachimata City, visited Yachimata Shrine, and returned via Yachimata Station.
Yachimata Shrine seems to be a riders' shrine. It's confusing because there's also a motorcycle shrine, but they're different things. In front of Yachimata Station, there was a peanut-colored postbox, which made it feel like a town of peanuts.
