岡崎市から、北上し豊田市へ。そして、西進し名古屋市へ。東海道線や、名鉄に乗っていると、岡崎市は名古屋市の東にある感じですが、実はかなり南になります。東海道線、東海道新幹線はかなり南に大回りをして、東京と名古屋を結んでおります。自転車に乗り、地図のログを見て、はっきりと気付きました。また、豊田市。もちろん、豊田自動車の企業城下町であることは知っておりますが、具体的にどのあたりといわれると、自分はピンとこない感じでした。中央線からも、東海道線からも遠く、足助町を合併してかなり山の方まで豊田市になりという具合です。そんなわけで、豊田市のの町中を目指すべく、岡崎からスタートです。距離は70㎞強ありました。
From Okazaki City, I headed north to Toyota City. Then, I headed west to Nagoya City. While riding the Tokaido Line or Meitetsu, Okazaki City seems east of Nagoya City, but it's actually quite far south. The Tokaido Line and Tokaido Shinkansen make a large detour south, connecting Tokyo and Nagoya. While riding my bike and looking at the map log, I clearly realized this. Also, Toyota City. Of course, I knew it was the Toyota Motor Corporation's company town, but when asked exactly where it was, I had no idea. It's far from both the Chuo Line and the Tokaido Line, and after merging with Asuke Town, Toyota City extends quite far into the mountains. So, I started from Okazaki, aiming for the center of Toyota City. The distance was just over 70 km.
スタートは東岡崎駅。近くの岡崎城公園により、岡崎城を見学。そして、国道248号線を北上して、大樹寺、岩津天満宮を見学しました。
I started at Higashi-Okazaki Station, visited Okazaki Castle at the nearby Okazaki Castle Park, and then headed north on National Route 248 to visit Daijuji Temple and Iwatsu Shrine.
さらに北上して、豊田市に入ります。豊田スタジアムのあたりが町の中心地で、のどかで広い景色と、大きくて立派な道路が印象的でした。猿投神社というのが目に入り行ってみることに。名鉄三河線の終点で、盲腸線になっている猿投駅、猿投山という名称からも何か有名ではないのかと思いました。
I continued north and entered Toyota City. The town center is around Toyota Stadium, and the tranquil, expansive scenery and large, stately roads were impressive. I spotted Sanage Shrine and decided to check it out. Sanage Station is the terminus of the Meitetsu Mikawa Line, and the name Sanageyama (Sanageyama) suggested it must be famous for something.
名古屋まで30㎞程度。走るのか、名鉄線を乗りつぶすのかで迷いましたが、自走をチョイス。観光地らしきものはなく、工業地域、住宅地から大都会への変貌が見れるのみでした。
It's about 30km to Nagoya. I was unsure whether to drive or ride the Meitetsu Line, but I decided to drive. There were no tourist attractions, and I could only see the transformation from industrial and residential areas into a big city.
