A leisurely bike ride visiting temples and shrines in Hadano and Isehara cities in western Kanagawa, an area served by the Odakyu Line.
While the region is hugely popular for cycling up Yabitsu Pass, this time I skipped the climb to focus on visiting the temples and shrines instead.
It turned out to be a surprisingly tough route, with plenty of ups and downs.

After leaving Hadano Station, the destination is Izumo Taisha Sagami Bunshi. As the name suggests, it is a shrine affiliated with Izumo Taisha. It turned out to be a surprisingly impressive spot—large in scale and with plenty of positive reviews.

Our next stop is Shirasasa Inari Shrine. It is located close to Izumo Taisha. This, too, was a magnificent, large shrine.

We then went past Kobo-yama Park to Hibita Shrine. It felt quite like a rural shrine, but it was large in scale and had many positive reviews. It had the feel of a shrine in the foothills of Tanzawa.

Head towards the Mount Oyama area and make your way to Hinata Yakushi (Hinatasan Hojobo). This well-known temple serves as one of the trailheads for Mount Oyama, a mountain revered as a site of religious faith.

For the return trip, I headed to Hon-Atsugi Station—which has excellent transport connections—and took my bike back with me on the train.
Please check out my Instagram as well.
