四国中央市の中心駅である伊予三島駅から四国八十八箇所第65番三角寺へ。三角寺から、製紙業の盛んな川之江地区へ。川之江城から瀬戸内海を見た後は、予算線と並行に走る国道11号を走り、観音寺市へ。天空の鳥居で有名な高屋神社へは、中宮まで自転車で登り、そこから徒歩でハイキング。高屋神社中宮から観音寺駅まで戻る48㎞の道のりでした。
From Iyo Mishima Station, the central station of Shikoku Chuo City, go to Sankakuji Temple, No. 65, the 88 temples of Shikoku. From Sankakuji Temple, head to the Kawanoe district, which has a thriving paper manufacturing industry. After viewing the Seto Inland Sea from Kawanoe Castle, continue along National Route 11, which runs parallel to the Budget Line, to Kanonji City. To visit Takaya Shrine, famous for its torii gate in the sky, cycle up to the Chugu Shrine and hike on foot from there. It was a 48km journey from Takaya Shrine Chugu to Kannonji Station.
スタートは四国中央市の中心駅である伊予川島駅。海から近く、標高もゼロメートルに近い場所ですが、ここから三角寺まで標高355mを登っていきます。途中からは激坂で、いろは坂も、赤城山も登り切った私ですが、ちょっぴり押しました。ところどころ景色が見えるのでゆっくり行きましょう。
The starting point is Iyo Kawashima Station, the central station of Shikoku Chuo City. It is close to the sea and the altitude is close to zero meters, but from here you will climb 355 meters above sea level to Sankakuji Temple. It was a steep hill from the middle, and even though I had climbed both Irohazaka and Mt. Akagi, I pushed it a little. You can see the scenery here and there, so go slowly.
三角寺からは一気の下り。製紙業が盛んな川之江地区に向かいます。川之江地区には川之江城が再建されており、天守のある場所からは四国中央市と瀬戸内海が一望できます。
It's a quick descent from Sankakuji Temple. We will head to the Kawanoe area, where the paper manufacturing industry is thriving. Kawanoe Castle has been rebuilt in the Kawanoe area, and the castle tower offers a panoramic view of Shikoku Chuo City and the Seto Inland Sea.
地元の鎮守である川之江八幡宮にお参りをし、国道11号線を観音寺市方面へ。県境越え道の駅とよはまで昼休憩。海と山に挟まれたわずかな隙間を走る感じです。豊浜地区の豊浜八幡神社に今度はお参り。八幡神社のはしごです。
After visiting the local shrine, Kawanoe Hachimangu Shrine, we headed towards Kanonji City on National Route 11. After crossing the prefectural border, I took a lunch break at the roadside station Toyoha. It feels like running through a small gap between the sea and the mountains. Next time I will visit Toyohama Hachiman Shrine in the Toyohama area. A ladder at Hachiman Shrine.
豊浜地区を越えると観音寺市中心部に入ります。琴引公園と、銭形砂絵が有名ですが行ったことがあるので、パスをし高屋神社へ。中宮によると山頂まで自転車で登ることはできません。ただ、観音寺駅方面から高屋神社本宮まで登るとなると、東側からのヒルクライムで、距離と時間の大きなロスになります。悩ましいのですが、中宮も立派な神社なので、南西側の中宮に向かいました。中宮より先はハイキングで高屋神社本宮へ。天空の鳥居で写真を撮って徒歩で戻り、観音寺駅から戻りました。
After passing the Toyohama area, you will enter the center of Kanonji city. Kotohiki Park and Zenigata Sunae are famous, and since I've been there before, I passed the park and headed to Takaya Shrine. According to Chugu, you cannot ride a bicycle to the top of the mountain. However, if you climb up to the main shrine of Takaya Shrine from Kanonji Station, you will have to climb the hill from the east side, which will result in a huge loss of distance and time. It was a bit annoying, but the Chugu Shrine is also a fine shrine, so I headed to the Chugu Shrine on the southwest side. Beyond Chugu, hike to the main shrine of Takaya Shrine. I took a photo at the sky torii gate, walked back, and returned from Kanonji Station.
