From Sakaide Station, cycle along Seto Ohashi Bridge and start from Kojima Station. Kojima Station is a relatively new station that was created when the Seto Ohashi Line opened. Until 1990, Shimotsui Electric Railway ran between Kojima Station (different location from JR) and Shimotsui Station. The ruins of the narrow gauge railway line are currently being developed as a promenade. From the Shimotsui area, return to Kojima and go to Okayama Station via Jeans Street. On the way back to Okayama Station, I stopped at Konohana Sakuyahime Shrine and Kumano Shrine.
First, go to the Shimotsui area from Kojima Station. Although it is in Kurashiki City, it is in the former Kojima City area and has a completely different atmosphere from Kurashiki. Some parts of the abandoned Shimotsui Electric Railway line are unpaved, but you can enjoy a comfortable cycling experience.
Speaking of Kojima, it is Jeans Street. Okayama's textile industry is famous, and BOBSON and BIGJOHN are also from Okayama. Other items such as school uniforms and work uniforms are also famous. Jeans Street is located a little far from Kojima Station, so bicycles are useful and Instagrammable.
Leave Jeans Street and run to Okayama Station. There is also a cycling road up to Chayamachi, so I was able to ride comfortably. On the way, we stopped at the large shrines Konohana Sakuyahime Shrine and Kumano Shrine.
