日本三大桜の一つである、三春の滝桜とその近くにある紅枝垂地蔵桜、どちらも枝垂桜の銘木で、郡山駅の東側エリアなので、郡山駅を起点に半日で回ることができます。
まずは、郡山市をスタートし、三春の滝桜に向かいます。途中にある高屋敷稲荷神社もいい感じで桜が咲いていたので寄ってみました。三春の滝桜から地蔵桜までは20分程度、南下します。地蔵桜からは、西に向かい1時間程度で郡山駅に戻ります。この時期は、名もなき桜が随所に見られ楽しいサイクリングになりました。
Miharu Takizakura and the nearby Benishidare Jizozakura, both famous weeping cherry trees, are one of Japan's three great cherry trees. They are both located to the east of Koriyama Station, so you can visit them in half a day starting from Koriyama Station.
First, start in Koriyama City and head to Miharu Takizakura. On the way, Takayashiki Inari Shrine had nice cherry blossoms in bloom, so we stopped by there. It takes about 20 minutes to head south from Miharu Takizakura to Jizozakura. From Jizozakura, head west and return to Koriyama Station in about an hour. At this time of year, nameless cherry trees can be seen everywhere, making for a fun cycle ride.
