日本各地には桜の名所がたくさんありますが、その中でも日本三大桜に数えられる山高神代桜はかなり有名な名所です。山高神代桜はエドヒガンサクラの巨木で、樹齢2000年ともいわれる桜です。JR日野春駅から4㎞程度なので、多少のアップダウンはあるものの、自転車で20分もかからずつくと思います。桜の時期はかなり混雑しますので、自転車のありがたみを感じます。山高神代桜からわに塚の桜までは1時間程度。甲府方面へアップダウンはあるものの、全体的には下り基調で楽しいサイクリングとなると思います。その後甲府方面へ、ポタリングしながら、向かいました。途中、南アルプス市ふるさと文化伝承館や、信玄堤などに寄りました。帰りは、甲府駅からの戻りです。
There are many famous cherry blossom viewing spots all over Japan, but Yamataka Jindai Sakura, one of the three great cherry blossoms in Japan, is quite famous. Yamataka Jindai Sakura is a giant Edo Higan cherry tree that is said to be 2000 years old. It is about 4 km from JR Hinoharu Station, and although there are some ups and downs, it takes less than 20 minutes by bicycle. It is quite crowded during the cherry blossom season, so you will appreciate the bicycle. It takes about an hour from Yamataka Jindai Sakura to Wanizuka Sakura. There are ups and downs on the way to Kofu, but overall it is mostly downhill, so it will be a fun cycle. After that, we headed towards Kofu, pottering around. On the way, we stopped at the Minami Alps City Hometown Cultural Heritage Museum and Shingen Embankment. On the way back, we returned from Kofu Station.
JR日野春駅をスタートし、急な下り坂を下ったらと思ったら登り返し。とはいえ、4㎞程度の道のりなので、結構あっという間に山高神代桜がある實相寺に到着です。
Starting from JR Hinoharu Station, you'll go down a steep slope, then climb back up. However, it's only about 4km, so you'll arrive at Jisso-ji Temple, where the Yamataka Jindai Sakura tree is located, in no time.
實相寺から、釜無川沿いを甲府方面へ向かうと、わに塚の桜に出ますが、少し遠回りをして信玄餅で有名な金精軒の韮崎支店と、道の駅にらさきに寄り道をしていきました。3㎞くらいはロスしますが、こういうのもサイクリングの楽しみです。
わに塚の桜は1本桜で、八ヶ岳をバックに圧倒的な存在感がありました。
From Jisso-ji Temple, heading towards Kofu along the Kamanashi River, you'll come across the Wanizuka cherry blossoms, but then take a slight detour to the Nirasaki branch of Kinseiken, famous for its Shingen mochi, and the Nirasaki roadside station. It'll cost you about 3km, but that's part of the fun of cycling.
The Wanizuka cherry blossoms are a single tree, and they have an overwhelming presence against the backdrop of the Yatsugatake Mountains.
わに塚の桜から近くにある武田八幡宮にお参りをし、南アルプス市方面へ。道の駅しらねに寄りましたが、何もなかったため、ふるさと文化伝承館へ。その後、信玄堤を経て甲府駅から帰りました。
From the Wanizuka cherry blossoms, I visited the nearby Takeda Hachiman Shrine and then headed towards Minami-Alps City. I stopped at the Shirane Roadside Station, but there was nothing there, so I went to the Hometown Cultural Heritage Museum instead. After that, I passed through Shingen-tsutsumi and returned from Kofu Station.
