DAHON VISCEVO のタイヤを履き替えてみました。中古で買ってから約4000㎞です。前後輪とも交換しました。中古で買った当時で新品同様だったので、多分、走行した距離は同じく4000㎞程度だっと思います。履いていたタイヤはデフォルトのKENDA製。451サイズで、空気圧の条件は100PSI(6.89BAR)です。履き替えたタイヤはIRCのjetty plus です。当時、税込み3190円が定価でした。
後輪は4000㎞走ってかなり摩耗しておりましたが、あと1000kmくらいはいけそうという感覚でした。KENDAのタイヤはスリックで摩耗感知用の穴もないので、感覚ですが。前後ローテーションをすれば、まだまだ走れったとは思います。
交換の理由としては、K3を処分したので、1台しかなくなり毎月の走行距離が単純に増えるので、いずれ交換時期が来るので、時間があるときに早めの交換としました。
交換した感想ですが、乗り心地はかなり良くなりました。空気圧の上限が90PSI(6.20BAR) になったので若干空気圧が減ったのもあるとは思いますが、非常に衝撃を吸収する感覚があります。走りは、KENDA製とはあまり違いはないと思います。スキンサイドにしたので、見た目も変わり、違う自転車になったかのようです。早めに交換してよかったです。
I changed the tires on my DAHON VISCEVO. It's been about 4000km since I bought it second-hand. I replaced both the front and rear wheels. They were like new when I bought it second-hand, so I think the mileage was probably about 4000km. The tires I was using were the default KENDA tires. They were 451 size and the air pressure was 100PSI (6.89BAR). The tires I replaced were IRC jetty plus. At the time, the list price was 3190 yen including tax.
The rear wheels were quite worn after 4000km, but I felt like I could go about another 1000km. KENDA tires are slicks and don't have holes for wear detection, so it's just a feeling. I think I could have gone a lot further if I had rotated the front and rear tires.
The reason for the replacement is that I got rid of my K3, so I only have one bike and my monthly mileage is simply increasing, so I knew it would be time to replace it eventually, so I decided to replace it early while I had the time.
My impression after replacing it is that the ride is much more comfortable. The upper air pressure limit is now 90 PSI (6.20 BAR), so I think that's partly because the air pressure has decreased slightly, but there is a feeling that it absorbs shocks very well. I don't think the ride is much different from the KENDA model. The skin sides have changed the appearance, and it feels like a different bike. I'm glad I replaced it early.
