自転車を趣味で乗り始める前はペダルを変えてみようなど思いもしませんでした。ただ、皆さんの話を聞いたり、自転車屋の話を聞いたりしていると、真っ先に変えるべきはペダルということになりました。
ペダルといってもいろいろあります。種類としては、ビンディングペダルか、フラットペダルか。素材は、さまざまですが樹脂製か金属か。あとは、ワンタッチで外れるものや、簡単に折りたたみができるものなどがあります。
私はK3もvisc EVOも折り畳み式の三ヶ島のFD-7というものに変更しました。折り畳み自転車としては定番のペダルです。K3のペダルより若干軽量の490グラムくらいです。visc EVOのペダルは600gくらいあるので、結構変わってきます。お値段は4,000円位で、ブラックは若干高めでした。
結論からすると、走りが明らかによくなりました。まずよく回るのと、樹脂製と金属製の剛性が違うことがあげられます。あとは、ゴムの靴底で樹脂だと滑りやすかったのですが、しっかり力が乗ります。皆さん、お値段の乗るペダルを勧めてきますが、10万円もしない自転車にペダル3万円といわれても、ちょっと躊躇してします。とはいえ、生まれ変わったようになりましたので、検討に値しますね。

Everyone recommends expensive pedals, but I'm a little hesitant to say that pedals are 30,000 yen for a bicycle that costs less than 100,000 yen. That said, it's been reborn, so it's worth considering.
